urban areas price increase

Urban Areas See a 5.95% Hike

In Maharashtra, the prices of houses and land in cities haven’t changed for two years. But now, in the year 2025-26, there will be a big change. The prices will go up by 5.95% in city areas. This is more than the overall average increase in the state, which is 4.39%. This means that more people want to buy houses in cities, and this is making prices go higher.

Different cities are seeing different price increases. For example, Thane has the highest increase at 7.72%. Navi Mumbai is next at 6.75%, and Pimpri-Chinchwad follows at 6.69%. These changes show that some cities are growing faster and getting more new buildings and roads.

Because of these new prices, when you buy or sell property, you’ll have to pay a different amount for the stamp duty. Stamp duty is a tax you pay when you buy a house or land. This change is the government’s way of making sure that the official prices match what people are really paying in the market.
