Three people were caught by the police in Maharashtra because they were tricking people with fake cryptocurrency investments. The people who were caught used to work at a big tech company. They made a fake website that said people could earn a lot of money—up to 300% in just 90 days! They took around ₹12.5 crore, which is about $1.5 million, from many people. They were very careful and used special tricks to hide what they were doing.
The police found out that these people had many secret companies in three different countries. When they searched their place, they took away 12 expensive laptops, 27 mobile phones, and some digital money wallets. The bad guys wrote down everything they did, which will help the police in the court.
These arrests are part of a bigger plan to stop people from cheating others online in Maharashtra. The three suspects will be charged with breaking the law. If they're found guilty, they could go to jail for up to seven years and pay a lot of money as a fine.
