Maharashtra: Illegal Cannabis Cultivation Worth Rs 20 Crore Destroyed in Dhule District

In Maharashtra, India, the government did a big job to stop illegal cannabis farming. They found and destroyed 96,049 cannabis plants that were growing on 9.49 acres of land. This operation took place in Dhule District, and the police found 420.39 kg of ganja, which is worth ₹20 crore.

The team in charge of this operation was called the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI). They worked hard to find where the illegal plants were growing in three villages called Khamkheda, Ambe, and Rohini. They noticed that the farmers were using special tools, like drip irrigation, to grow the plants very well. This showed that the people behind this farming had a lot of money and were planning carefully to sell drugs.

The police destroyed the plants following the laws about drugs. They made sure to have judges watch over the process to keep everything legal. This operation was a big step in stopping the illegal drug business in the area, showing that when police work together, they can make a difference.

Now, the police are trying to find the people who started and took care of these illegal farms. They want to learn more about how the drug business works and who’s involved so they can stop it completely in Maharashtra’s countryside.
