Maharashtra Weather Update: Heatwave Alert for Pune, Nashik, Jalgaon, Nandurbar

Maharashtra Weather Update

The weather in Maharashtra is changing a lot because of the monsoon. The weather department says that many places will get heavy rain soon. They expect between 65mm to 115mm of rain in the next two days.

However, in some cities like Pune, Nashik, Jalgaon, and Nandurbar, it will be very hot. The temperature could go up to 40-42°C in the next week. This means it will feel even hotter because of the humidity, which is how much water is in the air. The humidity will be between 45-60%, making it feel like it’s 8-10 degrees hotter than it really is.

To keep everyone safe, local authorities are setting up cooling centers and emergency teams in these areas. It’s best to stay indoors between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM, when the sun is strongest.

The weather is being affected by strong winds coming from the coast and pressure systems from the land. This is causing a heat dome effect, which means the hot weather will stay for about 72 hours. But don’t worry, cooler air will come by the weekend.

Hospitals are ready to help anyone who feels sick from the heat. It’s important to drink enough water, about 3-4 liters every day. If you feel dizzy, very tired, or sick from the heat, ask for help right away.

Stay safe and cool!
