A 19-year-old boy named Rahul Patil, who was studying engineering, sadly died by suicide at his home in Pune on Tuesday morning. This is the third time a student in Pune has died like this this month.
Rahul was feeling very sad and stressed because of school and work. He worked as a junior software developer and earned Rs. 25,000 a month. He was also studying part-time to help his family.
Rahul’s cousins were bothering him a lot. They kept asking him for money and made him feel very bad. His father told the police that these cousins called Rahul many times and even went to his workplace to pressure him. This made Rahul feel even more stressed and sad.
The police are now looking into this case. They’ve started a case against the two cousins for making Rahul feel so bad that he took his own life. They’ve proof from cameras and phone calls that show the cousins were harassing him.
A group called the Pune Mental Health Association says that more young people are feeling sad and some have even died by suicide because of money problems. They want everyone to know about getting help for mental health and to stop people from bothering others for money.
The police are trying to find the cousins who are hiding right now. Rahul’s body is being checked at the hospital.
