Two good brothers, Varun Jagtap (9 years old) and Sharv Jagtap (8 years old), showed great honesty when they found a gold necklace that weighs 52 grams and is worth ₹4.5 lakh in Saswad, Pune district, on April 1, 2025.
The boys found the necklace while playing near their home. They did the right thing by telling their parents about it. Their parents then called the police to help return the necklace to its owner.
The police at Saswad Police Station, led by Assistant Police Inspector Vaibhav Sonawane and Sub-Inspector Ganesh Patil, worked hard to find the person who lost the necklace. They shared information in the area and found out that the necklace belonged to a woman named Megha Ramesh Gaikwad. She lost it while taking pictures for her wedding near Sangameshwar Temple.
Everyone in the community praised the Jagtap brothers for their honesty. Their actions showed how important it’s to be honest and helpful. It also teaches other kids to be responsible citizens.
The police said this is a great example of how people can work together for the good of the community. This story reminds us that being honest and making good choices is important, no matter how old you are.
The brothers have become role models for other kids in their neighborhood.
