Four Criminals Externed for Two Years After Creating Terror in Wagholi Area

Police in Pune have taken action to make Wagholi safer. After a big operation lasting three weeks, they've sent away nine people who've done bad things before. These people have many cases against them, with a total of 47 bad actions, like hurting others, stealing money, and causing fear.

The police used a special law to keep these people out of Wagholi and nearby areas for two years. Senior Police Inspector Rajendra Mokashi said these people were making life hard for local shops and businesses. They were asking for money to protect them and fighting with other groups.

Most of their bad actions happened in homes, while some were done in shops. Between January 2023 and March 2024, the police found 23 cases of hurting people, 15 cases of stealing money, and 9 cases of breaking property.

The police got help from 27 people who saw what happened, like shop owners and other residents. They also used cameras and made sure people who spoke up were safe. They worked with nearby police to make sure the orders were followed.

Because of this action, the police say that the number of bad events has gone down by 42% in just one week. They've set up a system to watch over the area so that these bad people don't come back. If they do, they'll be arrested and face more trouble.
