Pune Police Seize 60 Kg Ganja Worth INR 12 Lakh, Accused Arrested

Pune police officers went to a building in Kothrud late on Tuesday night. They found 25 kilograms of cannabis, which is also called ganja. This ganja is worth about ₹5.2 lakhs, or $6,300 USD. The police caught three people who were involved in selling this illegal drug.

The police worked together with a special team called the Anti-Narcotics Cell. They'd been looking into drug problems in the area for a month. They learned that these people were using the building to sell drugs to different places nearby.

The police got good information, so they watched the place before they acted. They raided the building at 11:45 PM. When they searched, they found an extra 35 kilograms of ganja hidden in a car parked in the basement.

So, in total, they took 60 kilograms of ganja, which is worth about ₹12 lakhs.

The three men who were arrested are Rajesh Kumar, who's 32 years old, Amit Sharma, who's 28, and Mohammad Qadir, who's 35. They're being charged under a law about drugs. The police think these men are part of a big group that sells drugs and that they've connections to people in other states like Andhra Pradesh and Odisha.

A police officer said this is an important step in stopping drug selling in the city. The police have opened a case and are looking for more people involved in this drug group.
