In Maharashtra, many people are buying new cars and bikes. Because of this, the Pune Regional Transport Office (RTO) has seen a big jump in vehicle registrations. From March 20 to March 28, 2025, the RTO registered 10,170 new vehicles. This is a 39% increase from last year when there were only 7,336 new registrations during the same time.
Many people like to buy and register vehicles before Gudi Padwa, which is an important festival. This is why there are so many new registrations during this period.
The RTO has also started a new system for choosing registration numbers, and this has made many people interested. In just 48 hours, 718 people applied for these new numbers. This shows that a lot of people want to get their vehicles registered.
Overall, from January to March 2025, Maharashtra has had 663,680 vehicle registrations. Out of these, Pune RTO handled a big part with 68,522 registrations. This tells us that Pune is a very important place for buying and registering vehicles.
With so many new registrations, the RTO has to work hard to keep everything running smoothly. They’re showing that they can handle a lot of work, especially when many people are registering their vehicles at the same time.
This shows that there are many people in Pune who believe in buying cars and bikes, and the RTO is doing a good job to help them.
