In Pune, there are many small and medium businesses called MSMEs. These businesses sometimes have problems, especially about money they’re owed. The Industries Department Council is working hard to help solve these issues.
They’ve solved 4,849 out of 6,210 complaints, which is a 75% success rate as of March 2025. This means they’re helping a lot of businesses get the money they need.
The council has been good at handling problems about late payments. They’ve solved 1,440 cases where businesses were waiting for about Rs 57 crore, which is a lot of money! They use methods like talking and working together (conciliation) and having meetings to make decisions (arbitration).
They held 74 conciliation meetings and 30 arbitration meetings recently, which helps make sure everyone is treated fairly.
They also started something called the MSME Samadhan initiative, which lets businesses file their complaints online. This makes it easier for them to get help.
Even though they’re helping many businesses, there were still 2,198 new complaints in Pune last year.
The council solving three-quarters of the disputes is a big achievement. It shows they’re good at their job and can help even more businesses.
They’ll keep working hard to solve money problems quickly, which is important for helping businesses stay strong and healthy.
